Review: Opposition by Jennifer Armentrout

Opposition
by: Jennifer Armentrout

Book 5 of Lux Series

This was the 5th and final book of the Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout  released just recently- the Lux series is one of my most favourite books so naturally I bought it the moment it came out!

This book follows what happens after the last book ( Origin) in the Lux series where Daemon and Katy escape from the DOD in Las Vegas and go to Idaho where at night the Luxen come from the sky and Daemon Dee and Dawson leave Katy. I think its safe to say that everyone was literally counting down the seconds till Opposition came out- the series is just amazing and Daemon and Katy are super sweet  awwww.

I have to admit though this book was a bit of a let down - I had been expecting a bit more. Nonetheless I still loved it but I felt like it didn't live up to the previous books in the series. And it's also so sad the series has ended goodbye Daemon and Katy ;(

Like I said before this book was great though not as good as the rest of the books in the series but the thing I like the most about the series is really Daemon and Katy. Despite the slight let down I really think you should try the series if you haven't already - I really enjoyed it and it leaves you smiling afterwards.

Quotes from Opposition:
" I always had this plan for the off chance I was around for the end of the world. I’d climb up on my roof top, turn up the radio, blast R.E.M.’s It’s The End of The World, and watch it all go down from my lofty perch.

Except real life rarely turned out that cool.

And it was really happening—it was the end of the world as we knew it, and I sure as hell didn’t feel fine.

Everything had changed and we had been the catalyst for it all."

Review: The One by Kiera Cass

BTW here's the cover shoot video for the cover of the One. The dress was absolutely gorgeous

Drum roll please!!........ The moment we've all been waiting for - The One by Kiera Cass is finally out! I was so excited to read this book- it was released more than a year after The Elite came out- torture or what? I have been wanting to read it for so long and I'm so excited that it's finally here!

I really enjoyed the first 2 books of the Selection series but honestly I thought The One was a bit of a let down. I felt like it was missing a bit of that "America air" to things in the book and it felt like things were being rushed. Like how at the end King Clarkson and Queen Amberley died during the rebel attack? Total unexpected.  And Maxon's behaviours after he found out about Aspen was so strange - it felt so out of character and made me feel weirded out.  And to top it off, America's maids who were such a big part of the book did not really have much about them in the last few chapters. Lucy retired and married Aspen, Marry was the only one left because Anne was gone. That for me was a huge letdown. I think the book could have been written better - it was the finale of a great series! I loved the book but I think it could have been written a bit better. The ending left me feeling slightly miffed that it was so brief and just left me unsatisfied. It didn't really feel like there was a real closure to the story, if you know what I mean.

I really like that Aspen and Lucy  and Maxon and America ended up together though because I think they're meant to be. Quite often in the middle of the book I found myself smiling in happiness when Maxon and America grew closer. But I hated Kriss also in some parts of the book. I was like GO AWAY KRISS MAXON IS AMERICA'S!!!!!! But all is good now so don't despair :)

I think the ending could have been better but no fear I still absolutely love the Selection series though I'm kind of sad that it's ended. No more Maxon and America :( *tears up and sniffles*

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this review. The selection series is a must-read, drop-everything-now ,forget-your-homework and forget-to-eat-or-sleep book that I think anyone who likes fantasy books will enjoy.

Waiting On A Friday

I kept reading about The Selection series by Kiera Cass so I thought I'd give it a try. By the time I finished the first book, I was dying to read the second so I rushed out to buy it and I'd though I'd give you the run down of the book.

Firstly, the cover. Aren't they beautiful? I swear if I had to make a list of the top 10 most beautiful YA list books this would be on it. I liked the dress on the first book much more than the second but their both still absolutely beautiful.

Okay let's start with the story line now - I thought the story was so so marvelous but I hate Kriss so so much! I mean, just leave Maxon alone! Gosh. And even more exciting news: The One is coming out in 4 days on the 6th of May! I'm so excited for the release! I've already pre-ordered the book - can't wait!

Let me know your views on this book!

Top 10 YA List Books of all time

After reading many of the recent YA List books, I have narrowed them down to the top 10 best series (not in any order because that would be physically impossible to do because I love them all so much)

My Top 10 Books (not in any order)

1. Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi
T  his, along with The Selection, is one of my all time favourites. Some YA Books don't have a lot of depth in the book but Tahereh Mafi managed to put quite a bit of depth in this book along with writing a fantastic plot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves to read YA Books.

2. The Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I know how everyone says that the Covenant is like Vampire Academy but I think the covenant is so much better. Vampire Academy didn't really appeal to me and I did not find it towards my liking. . However, the minute I picked up the first covenant book I couldn't put it down!

3. Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout (yes, another series by her. Her writing is seriously good- she's one of my favourite authors)
This series has a great story and plot, follows the concept of the Covenant slightly.

4. Throne Of Glass Series of Books by Sarah J Mass

5. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Loved the book, and loved the movie even more <3. However the ending of Allegiant (SPOILER ALERT) was so sad. I couldn't believe Tris died - it was absolutely heart shattering.

6. Clockwork Angel Series by Cassandra Clare
I think the Mortal Devices series is so much better than the Mortal Instruments series partly because it was short and the story was to the point, yet very captivating and so wonderful. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who loved any of the above books.

7. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
Oh how could I ever forget this book. This is by far one of my most favourite favourite books in the world. And the last book is yet to be released in May(!!!!!) Can't wait for it to come out - I'm simply dying to read it.

8. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I loved the first book of the series but I felt like the second and the third book were just absolutely terrible. The plot was not very strong and I felt like the story was wavering back and forth. The 2nd and the 3rd books came no where near to as good as Delirium was.

9. The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer
I thought this book was quite good though if not slightly creepy however the way Mara fell in love with Noah kind of reminded me the way Hazel fell in love with Augustus in The Fault In Our Stars( look out for the review of this coming later)

10.Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I read this book and though the plot is slow to unfurl, it is actually quite a sweet book and I absolutely loved it after finishing the first book- there are 2 more books in this series!

Hope you enjoyed my review!
